14867 - Deciphering de novo gene birth in populations (101052538)

Description:

The selected person will join the Evolutionary genomics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).

Task:

The researcher will develop methods to integrate and analyze RNA-seq and Ribo-seq data from lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) and other cell types. Data from related mammalian species, including several primates, will also be analysis and compared.

Formation:

PhD in Cellular Biology.

Experience:

Previous research in comparative genomics, variant analysis, next generation sequencing (NGS). Previous experience working with LCLs.

Knowledge:

Programming in Python. Expert use of the statistical package R. Experience in genetic variant analysis.
