Her research focuses on the study of language learning, its perception, and issues related to language processing in general (with a special emphasis on bilingual populations). Her current research lines includes the investigation of individual differences in native and non-native speech processing (measuring brain activity and morphology), the relationship between speech perception and production (using behavioral, EEG as well TMS techniques) and the influence of social factors in mechanisms of visual perception and language understanding (using behavioral, EEG and fMRI). She is also interested in understanding the relationship between mechanisms of attention and early language learning (in very young infants).
