The main strategic objective is to further our understanding of the pathogenesis of various neoplastic colorectal processes, as well as their prevention and treatment.

Our research focuses on identifying the factors relating to the development of metachronous neoplastic lesions, particularly advanced colorectal adenomes, to improve patient monitoring, study how the inflammatory response to surgery influences the oncological outcome, and identify disease progression biomarkers in patients with colorectal cancer.
