The European Project on Policy Information Research for Mental Disorders EPREMED was finalized

Coordinated by URSS and funded by DG Sanco, the EPREMED project contributed to the improvement of mental health policy information in Europe through the in-depth analysis of the prevalence, risk factors, burden and service use of individuals with mental disorders. The data had been collected within the most comprehensive mental health study ever conducted in Europe and funded by the EU Commission (ESEMeD project).

EPREMED resulted in valuable mental health policy information which allowed comparison of data from six European countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain representing about 213 million adult and elderly Europeans.

The EPREMED results reached the scientific community through the publication of more than 70 articles in important scientific journals and ultimately facilitated the dialogue between European stakeholders in mental health policy. Project partners organized focus groups with policy makers and other stakeholders in most of the countries involved and were actively involved in the consultation on the green paper on mental health carried out by SANCO.
