Investigador Principal

Toni Celià-Terrassa, Ph.D.

Irene Sangrador, Ph.D. Postdoctoral fellow

Irene Sangrador

She obtained her PhD in biomedicine by the University of Barcelona (2018) in pancreatic tumor microenvironment, at the Hospital Clínic (Castell Lab). Her studies characterized the role of stromal fibroblast in pancreatic cancer progression. She joined the lab in 2018 and she is currently working in the immunomodulation of cancer stem cells (CSC) in breast cancer metastasis. She is also a blues musician and already got many friendly aliases: "fumi" and "bloody Irene". Contact: isangrador(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Ivan Pérez, Ph.D. student

He graduated in Biology (2015) at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB), and a master in advance molecular and cellular immunology (2016) at the University of Granada (UGR) in the Alcina Lab. He studies the molecular mechanisms driving immunotherapy resistance in triple-negative breast cancer. He calls himself as Mr. Stemnes (Twitter: @mr_stemness), and he is an outgoing person and fan of all sports. Contact: iperez(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Catalina Rozalen, PhD student

Catalina Rozalen

She graduated in Biochemistry (2018) at University of Balearic Islands (UIB) and got her master's in biomedical research (2019) at the University Pompeu Fabra. She did an internship at the IDISBA in the Marzese's lab on epigenomic analysis of metastatic cells. She is interested in the molecular mechanism regulating interferon signaling in breast cancer. She is a volley player star and sushi lover. Contact: crozalen(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Michelle von Locquenghien. PhD student.

Michelle obtained a double master's degree from University of Barcelona (UB) in Molecular Biotechnology and from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in Biomedical Research in 2018/19 after graduating at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. She has performed research internships at MIT-affiliated Whitehead Institute (Sabatini Lab, Boston, USA), Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Peter Lab, Chicago, USA) and at the NKI (Peeper Lab, Amsterdam, NL). In 2019, she joined the lab to study the mechanisms of breast cancer escape of immune-surveillance during metastasis. She is a vivid music festival lover and is passionate about traveling and exploring new cultures. Contact: mvonlocquenghien(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Laia Joval, PhD student

She graduated in Human Biology (2018) at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), performed a stay in Germany at Eberhard Karls Tübingen University in 2017 and got her master's in Cytogenetics and Reproductive Biology (2019) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). In 2018 she was awarded with an AECC grant to perform an internship in the Hereditary Cancer Genetics group at VHIO. She is currently an FI AGAUR fellow interested in immunotherapy resistance in breast cancer and metabolic reprogramming of cancer stem cells. Born in the Pyrenees, she is a nature lover and an enthusiastic nordic skier. Contact: ljoval(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Mariona Dalmau, Lab technician

Mariona Dalmau

She graduated as higher research technician in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory at the Institute Bonanova in 2019. Right after, she joined the lab and enthusiastically coordinates the lab needs and provide additional experimental help. She likes aeromodelism and history in general. Contact: mdalmau(ELIMINAR)@imim.es

Paloma Velasco. Master student.

Master student of the Advance Immunology Master at the University of Barcelona (UB). She did a 2-year internship at the Neuroscience Institute of Alicante in the Nieto Lab, studying the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer. She is interested in the connections of cancer cells undergoing EMT and their interactions with the immune system. Contact: pvelasbe7(ELIMINAR)@alumnes.ub.edu

María Corral. Bachelor student.

Bachelor medical student, University Pompeu Fabra (UPF). She is performing her TFG in our lab. She is performing computational analysis of breast cancer metastatic patient's data in order to find relevant molecular targets for advanced metastatic breast cancer. She is very passionate about reading and traveling around the world. Contact: maria.corral03(ELIMINAR)@estudiant.upf.edu
