- The selected person will join the Integrative biomedical informatics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).
- Tasks to be implemented
- Completion of the doctoral thesis. Use of network-based approaches to gene prioritization of disease to understand the pathophysiology of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration (LDD). Application of different strategies and computational tools to reveal LDD-related comorbidities and integration of protein interaction databases to discover latent connections between comorbid diseases and in the implementation of a biomarker recommendation model based on genotype relationships phenotype and related comorbidities.
- Studies
- Master's degree in statistics, biochemistry, biological sciences, genetics, bioinformatics or related areas.
- Experience
- Previous experience in working with network biology models.
- Knowledge
- Good computational and bioinformatics analytical skills. Proficiency in English.
- Additional information
- The grant includes an additional mobility allowance of € 600 per month (unconditional) and a family allowance of € 500 per month (if applicable). This contract is part of a project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement Nº 955735.
