Data obtained from genetic and epigenetic studies can be useful for health and for healthcare decisions, and we expect to contribute to new discoveries related with vascular risk factors or stroke. Last years, epigenetics has proved to be of great importance to elucidate the underlying biology of many complex diseases and traits, and becomes particularly essential in comprehending the interaction genetics/environment.
Our projects are focused in the identification of those patients who would better benefit of an intensive prophylaxis of vascular complications, new decision-making markers that may contribute to a better prevention of stroke and to a better prognosis, representing, for sure, a significant impact in our society and a substantial advance in improving the quality of life of stroke patients.
