The Research Group on Muscle Wasting and Cachexia in Chronic Respiratory Diseases and Lung Cancer of the Hospital del Mar Research Institute promotes research in bronchiectasis.

The CIBER of Respiratory Diseases (CIBERES) has accepted the integration of Dr. David de la Rosa, pulmonologist at the Hospital de Sant Pau, into the research group led by Dr. Esther Barreiro, integrated into the CIBERES structure. This strengthens the collaboration they had in research in the field of bronchiectasis.

The management of the CIBER of Respiratory Diseases  has accepted the incorporation of Dr. David de la Rosa, senior doctor in the Pneumology Service at the Hospital de Sant Pau and current president of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery, into the research group led by Dr. Esther Barreiro at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute and the Pneumology Service, integrated into the CIBER network network. This association has been made possible thanks to the collaboration that this group maintained with Dr. De la Rosa in various studies on bronchiectasis.

The Research Group on Muscle Wasting and Cachexia in Chronic Respiratory Diseases Respiratory Diseases and Lung Cancer, which is also part of CIBERES, focuses on the study of chronic respiratory diseases, whether they are of high prevalence, such as asthma or lung cancer, or those less common, such as pulmonary fibrosis or pulmonary hypertension.
