Rosa Ventura Alemany, director of the Anti-Doping Laboratory of Catalonia, distinguished as best professional leader by the Associació Catalana de Dirigents de l'Esport.

The ACDE thus recognizes her work leading the Laboratory and her work in carrying out the anti-doping controls of the 2018 Tarragona Mediterranean Games

The Associació Catalana de Dirigents de l'Esport (ACDE) awarded the distinction of Best Professional Leader to Dr. Rosa Ventura Alemany, director of the Anti-Doping Laboratory of Catalonia of the Hospital del Mar Institute of Medical Research. The distinction recognizes her work leading the Laboratory, one of the 30 laboratories accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency in the world, and as coordinator of the Research Group on doping control in sport. It also recognizes the Laboratory's work in conducting doping controls for the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, and in the management of athletes' biological passports. Finally, it recognizes the relevant scientific results achieved in recent years by the Research Group coordinated by Dr. Ventura Alemany.

The award ceremony took place on Friday, February 17 at the Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza during the celebration of the Nit del Dirigent, one of the main events of the ACDE, which recognizes the work carried out by leaders and former leaders of clubs, federations and professionals. In the opening speech of the event, the president of the entity, Pere Sust Sagau, highlighted the international prestige of the Anti-Doping Laboratory of Catalonia and its important work in favor of a clean sport.

"This distinction, in addition to vindicating our work both in doping controls and research, also recognizes us as an integral part of Catalan sport. And this is very good news for the Laboratory" says Dr. Ventura Alemany, who shares the recognition with the entire team of the Anti-Doping Laboratory of Catalonia.
