Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute Foundation

The IMIM Foundation is a private foundation of the public sector of the Generalitat de Catalunya, created in 1992, responsible for managing the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, a Health Research Institute accredited by Carlos III Health Institute, with approximately 80%, made up of research groups led by professionals from the Hospital del Mar, most of whom are associates of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).

The main roles of the Foundation include managing and monitoring research projects and grant requests, promoting quality research, ensuring the observance of ethical principles of professional practice, disseminating the results of research activities, and encouraging specialized teaching and continuous training by and for professionals in the field of Health Sciences. Likewise, its functions are oriented to the transfer of knowledge to the market, innovation and translational research.

The IMIM Foundation is responsible for managing the Institute's resources. It plays an incredibly relevant role in managing European projects, services abroad, and grants for research projects and cooperative research networks from the Carlos III Health Institute.
