Marta López directs the Grant Management Service and Research Contracts. Her responsibilities include providing strategic advice and support to the management, getting the researchers involved in implementing the institute's strategies and objectives, optimising relationships with organisations related to the institute's activity, raising the profile of the centre and its researchers, and facilitating the development of both Innovation Management and Digital Transformation and the Friends of Hospital del Mar. She is also responsible for the Research Service, whose functions are:
- Inform, advise, and manage research grants (national and international).
- Process and monitor grants and projects until their completion.
- Economically justify research grants (national and international).
- Manage all the researchers' scientific publication database at Hospital del Mar and support bibliometrics.
- Manage the database of grants requested by the researchers at the centre.
- Provide support in preparing the Data Management Plan and the implementation of open data and open access.
- Maintain a database of national and international grants updated weekly. This is made available to the researchers, enabling them to search for opportunities to finance projects and get grants. There is also a personalized consultation service.
- Manage contracts for clinical trials, external services, collaboration agreements, and Material Transfer Agreements (MTA) for the researchers.
- The Research Service acts as a technology and innovation transfer office and, as such, deals with any transfer initiatives generated (patents, licences, etc.).
- To manage other grants from the centre (Jordi Gras, Intensification, etc.).
- To provide the documentation that must be submitted in public calls.
